is-khemkas-transfer-to-non-descript-dept-a-message-to-bureaucracy The way Ashok Khemka (IAS:HY:1991) has responded on his fresh transfer from the post of Transport Commissioner to Secretary & DG, Archaeology & Museums Dept has created avenues for many interpretations. Not only it has amazed many insiders in bureaucracy but Anil Vij also, a minister in M L Khattar cabinet, has questioned the intent of the decision. CM Manohar Lal Khattar was reported to have had a soft corner for Khemka during Hooda Govt's regime. But the way Khemka has been shifted is being taken by a section (in politics and bureaucracy) as if BJP Govt in Haryana has sent out a message that it does not want bureaucrats to dig deeper on corruption. Hooda-led Congress government in Haryana had been treating the upright bureaucrat in distasteful manner for his pro-active approach against corruption. Then it gave a strong message that Congress was protecting corrupt people. But the present Haryana Govt's fresh move has sent out a message which is set to trigger a debate over the intent and reality.
