The funding follows a high-level discussion between Chief Secretary M K Das and senior HUDCO officials concerning the provision of sufficient financial resources for infrastructure projects undertaken by State Government departments. The capital will be utilised for key projects including Gujarat Metro Rail Phases 2 and 3, expressways, sports infrastructure, and the development of modern infrastructure in Dholera.

Additionally, the State Government signed an MoU with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, enabling the institute to conduct pre-feasibility studies, feasibility assessments, preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), and impact evaluations for projects envisioned under the Viksit Gujarat 2047 initiative.
