Chandigarh (18.06.2026): Former Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh is trying hard to go back to the Congress but the party leadership is not very keen on it. The BJP had brought Captain Singh to its fold with a plan that his popularity would catapult the saffron outfit to power in Punjab but the scheme had fallen flat. Now, the former CM is not happy with the BJP’s decision of appointing Kewal Singh Dhillon as the new state BJP chief and party leader's behaviour towards him also being the other reason for his disillusionment. So, Captain Singh wants to go back to his old party. Some say that it was planned three-four months ago, but the ED's summons to him delayed the move.
