Gupta front runner for AP DGP; Rao may continue as APSRTC MD

Amaravati (24.01.2024): Director General of the Fire Services Department Madireddy Pratap (IPS: 1991: AP) and Director General of Vigilance and Enforcement Harish Kumar Gupta (IPS: 1992: AP) appear to be the front runners for the post of Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP). Incumbent DGP of Andhra Pradesh Dwaraka Tirumala Rao (IPS: 1989: AP) is retiring on January 31.Gupta has more chances of being appointed as the new DGP. Outgoing DGP Rao, who is already serving as the Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) in an additional capacity, may continue in that role post-retirement.
