Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that Kumar Alok (IAS:1990: TR) may be repatriated to Tripura (parent cadre) - more than two months ahead of the completion of his extended central deputation tenure. He is said to have been tipped for appointment as a Principal Secretary to Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
Currently, he is serving as a Joint Secretary in the Union Home Ministry. His central deputation was scheduled to be over in September last year, but he was given a nine-month extension ending 29 June 2018.
