Probably first time since inception of Delhi Assembly in 1993, the functioning of Lt Governor was evaluated by the deputy chief minister Manish Sisodiya on Wednesday. Setting a precedent, Manish Sisodiya presented Outcome Report on how the Lt Governor had been performing in the previous years and he the LG had no powers to meddle into decisions taken by the Delhi cabinet. As this clash has reached a critical stage, it may lead to administrative logjam in governance in the coming days.
The RajNiwas was taken aback and reacted saying that the facts presented in the assembly were far from truth. RajNiwas will issue detailed clarification on Thursday. Precisely, the Arwind Kejriwal led government is at loggerheads with the Lt Governor. Dy Chief Minister alleged in the House that the LG has delayed over a dozen cabinet decision including setting up of 1000 mohalla clinics and education loan scheme to meritorious students.
Delhi Assembly session is likely to conclude on Thursday. Thereafter the IAS Association and DANICS Association may take firm steps to further decimate the Arwind Kejriwal government. The top bureaucrats will oragnise a meeting soon to chart their future course of action. Meanwhile, Lt Governor's reaction on his performance appraisal in Delhi Assembly is awaited on Thursday.
