New Delhi (10.09.2021): Induction of Bhupendra Yadav into Union cabinet was surprising for everyone as he was the most trusted man of Union Home minister Amit Shah in the organisation. But apparently Yadav wanted to be part of the Cabinet who was otherwise having an important assignment as General Secretary in-charge of Bihar.
But his political clout diminished after he was inducted into Union Cabinet. However, BJP insiders say that the new president wants his own men on important assignments. Once the most powerful general secretary has been made in-charge of Manipur which is very menial to a leader like him. Meanwhile, another OBC leader Dharmendra Pradhan has been made in charge of such an important state like Uttar Pradesh with seven big leaders to assist him that included another high-profile minister Anurag Singh Thakur. Pradhan took up the issue OBCs in Parliament very well.
Looking at the size of electorate in UP, besides Anurag Thakur, a Rajput and youth leader; Arjun Ram Meghwal, a Dalit; Sobha Karandlaje, an OBC; Annapoorna Devi, an OBC from Yadav community; Captain Abhimanyu, a Jat and Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Thakur, a Bhumihar Brahmin and Saroj Pandey, a Brahmin leader have been made co-in-charge.
Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has been made in-charge in Goa. Union minister G Kishan Reddy and MoS Railway Darshana Jardosh have been appointed co-in-charge.
With a Rajput as chief minister of Uttarakhand, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, a Brahmin, will be the BJP's election in-charge. Brahmin and Rajput politics dominates the state. Lok Sabha MP Locket Chatterjee and party spokesperson R P Singh will assist as co-in-charge. R P Singh, a Sikh will help wooing voters in Udham Singh Nagar and other parts of the state.
Union Cabinet minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will head the BJP's campaign in Punjab. Union Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, MoS External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi, a Sikh and a Punjabi Khatri, respectively and Lok Sabha MP Vinod Chavda will be co-in-charges.
