BJP President Nadda announces new team: Ram Madhav, GVL & Muralidhar Rao dropped, Tejaswi youth wing’s chief

Eight months after taking over as National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jagat Prakash Nadda on Saturday announced the 70-member national executive committee as his new team.

What is more surprising is the absence of big names like G V L Narasimha Rao, Ram Madhav and P Muralidhar Rao in the list. While GVL was the national official spokesman, Ram Madhav from Andhra and P Muralidhar Rao from Telangana was the national general secretaries in the previous term. It is yet not known whether they will be given another assignment. Tejashwi Surya (BJP MP) has been made the new President of Yuva Morcha; the party’s youth wing. Tejaswi replaces Poonam Mahajan.

The new team was expected in April but due to the coronavirus epidemic and nationwide lockdown, the party high command could neither convene the new team nor convene a meeting of national officials by calling a meeting of the National Executive and Council. Reportedly, he had prepared a list of national officials a few months back after brainstorming with senior party leaders.

In Nadda's new team, for the first time, 12 vice presidents have been appointed. They include two leaders from Jharkhand -- former chief minister Raghuvar Das and MP Annapurna Devi, besides Dr. Raman Singh and Vasundhara Raje Scindia, former chief ministers of Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan respectively. Mandsaur MP Sudhir Gupta is made the co-treasurer of the party.

While Nadda dropped Ram Madhav, Dr. Anil Jain, Murlidhar Rao and Saroj Pande as general secretaries -- sources say they may be given new responsibilities -- many new faces were given a place in the team as general secretaries. While Kailash Vijayvargiya retained his position, the other new general secretaries are Bhupendra Yadav, Arun Singh, Dushyant Kumar Gautam, D. Purandeshwari, CT Ravi, Tarun Chugh and Dilip Saikia. Among them, Tarun Chugh, who was a national secretary in-charge of Andaman and Nicobar, got elevated to the position of general secretary of the party.

In the new organizational setup, Tejaswi Surya replaced Poonam Mahajan as president of Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha while Alka Gurjar was made its national secretary. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore was appointed as the party's national spokesperson while Anil Baluni was made national head of the party's media department.  Lal Singh Arya is now the president of BJP's Anusuchit Jati Morcha while former minister Omprakash Dhruve is made its national secretary.

In the new team, Nadda has tried to give equal participation to every state.

Nominated members embarrass BJP; does party appreciate it?

The BJP is quite often embarrassed by its two academicians nominated members in the Rajya Sabha for breaching party lines. If some insiders are to be believed it is difficult for the party to rein in both the leaders as one draws its strength from his own activities, qualifications and taking on Gandhies while the other draws it from the RSS which has come down to its lowest ebb now.

If the elder one is constantly embarrassing the government by attacking FinMin for handling Indian economy badly then the younger one is talking about bringing bill to do away with ‘socialism’ and ‘secularism’ from the preamble of the Indian Constitution.

He also caused flutter when he had announced in 2018 bringing Private Member Bill in Rajya Sabha to take legislative way to facilitate construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya but he was given a dressing down by one of the party general secretaries at the BJP headquarters by asking if the party wanted or the RSS asked for it. He was speechless and constantly demanded audience of the then president Amit Shah. Hope this time round, the BJP leader has sanctions from the party as he is close the present party president.

Nadda to take over as full time BJP President today

By IndianMandarins 20 Jan 2020

The BJP is going to get a new president on January 20, 2020 with the name of former Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda likely to announced to succeed Union home minister Amit Shah as the party chief. Nadda is the working president of the BJP at the moment. His term as BJP National President will be for three years.

Nadda has the daunting task of dealing with two crucial Assembly elections – Delhi that is underway and West Bengal being the most difficult one – besides taking the message of the party to people on CAA.

Nadda is known for his organisational acumen right from the time of ABVP. He was elected to Himachal Pradesh Assembly thrice and held the responsibility of cabinet minister under Prem Kumar Dhumal before moving to Delhi as party general secretary.

He was party general secretary under Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari and also under Amit Shah before being elevated as working president. Nadda got his education in Patna, Bihar before shifted to Himachal Pradesh.

Shah to focus more on home ministry for many unfinished works

By IndianMandarins 16 Oct 2019

Before relinquishing his post as party president by December, BJP president Amit Shah not only wants to train the new president to his style of working but also want major work of the party to be done. Now Shah wants to pay his complete attention of the home ministry where several unfinished issues are to be accomplished.

Shah has announced that he would make way for a new leader to head the BJP after party’s organisational elections are over by the end of this year. Shah wants state organization to be of his choice and by the time elections process of Delhi and Jharkhand will be started if not over.

Tenure of Shah gets over in December this year and it is likely that the present national executive president Jagat Prakash Nadda will be made the fulltime president of the party.

It was expected that Shah will make way for a new leader after being inducted as a Cabinet minister by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his government following ‘one person one post’ but he remained at the helm to complete some unfinished task.  Organisational elections are going on and a new president will assume responsibility in next two months’ time to take care of the party affairs.

Angry bureaucrats adding up RSS for ouster of AAP from Delhi

By IndianMandarins 21 Sep 2019

New Delhi: If some reliable sources are to be believed some unhappy and humiliated bureaucrats are working to oust Kejriwal (AAP) led Delhi Government in the next Assembly elections. They are working day in and day out to oust AAP. Many of them are in constant touch with the RSS leaders in Delhi to execute plans of the BJP.

Reportedly, disgruntled civil servants are helping the RSS to find ways to weaken Kejriwal’s prospects. These bureaucrats are telling the RSS vulnerability of the government where it could be hit at and strength where it should not be attacked.

Karnataka, Kamal and Kamal Nath: BJP’s opponents under constant pressure

By IndianMandarins 11 Sep 2019

Union minister and SAD leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal tweeted removing Kamal Nath from the post of MP CM for his involvement in 1984 Sikh riots case but it has a bigger political implication both for the BJP and the Congress alike. What is that?

The Congress has been accusing the BJP of its alleged intention of destabilizing Congress governments in MP, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh after Karnataka government was taken over by the BJP replacing the Congress. Actually it has been NaMo-Shah strategy to keep their opponents on tenterhooks by keeping them under pressure. This seems to be the approach towards these states as well.

However, the BJP is in no position to do anything in Chhattisgarh but yes in MP they might do something if not topple the government, speculation is rife that Jyotiraditya Scindia may replace Kamal Nath in MP as Jyotiraditya Scindia joining the BJP will have its own bearing the party and the BJP would eschew to go for any such move. A crippled non-performing government equally suits the BJP.

Not opening many fronts at the same time, the BJP will go slow in Rajasthan as Sachin Pilot has not forgotten that he was denied his due as CM’s post was given to Ashok Gehlot but Sachin will have to wait for some more time. This is clear that the NDA leadership does not do anything in such a way that anyone can read, understand or fathom their next move.

nadda-likely-to-become-bjp-president-and-mahesh-sharma-up-bjp-chief

Nadda likely to become BJP president and Mahesh Sharma UP BJP chief

By IndianMandarins 31 May 2019

Some of the missing names like Jagat Prakash Nadda from the Union cabinet, Jaipur (rural) MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Gautam Buddha Nagar MP Mahesh Chandra Sharma in council of minister have astounded many but there is nothing to get disheartened for his sympathizers as these leaders are likely to get some important organizational responsibilities.

With BJP president Amit Shah making a cut into the Modi government, J P Nadda, who was Union health minister in the Modi 1.0 government, is likely to be made national party president replacing Amit Shah. Nadda has a long experience of organizational work from ABVP to Yuva Morcha to BJP general secretary. So he will be taking care of the organizational work. He not only gets along with the PM and party president but also have blessings of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leadership.

The long due organizational overhauled of the BJP will be done with the new president taking over. Similarly former Union culture minister Mahesh Sharma too will be given the organizational responsibility albeit in Uttar Pradesh. Actually sources informed that the BJP wants to replace a Brahmin president with another Brahmin to maintain cast equilibrium in the state. There is another aspect of Mahesh Sharma being considered for the responsibility is that he belongs to western Uttar Pradesh – the region where the performance of the party in the just concluded Lok Sabha elections was not as good as other parts of the state. So the party wants to correct before it goes into the next Assembly elections.

So the party wants state president from western Uttar Pradesh and a Brahmin to give message to Brahmins and people of western UP alike. As per the sources, chief minister Yogi Adityanath will take care of eastern Uttar Pradesh who is a Rajput strongman with Hindutva image, deputy chief minister Keshav Prashad Maurya will take care of central Uttar Pradesh an OBC strongman.

Some other leader like Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore is also likely to be inducted into the organizational structure either in Rajasthan or in the central team.
