New Delhi (24.07.2026): The Centre on July 23, 2026 approved
a six-month extension for West Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar
Agarwal (IAS: 1990: WB) who was scheduled to retire on July 31, 2026. The extension will take effect from August 1 and remain
valid until January 31, 2027, following approval by the Department of Personnel
and Training (DoPT). The state government had requested the Centre on July 15
seeking an extension for Agarwal, who assumed charge as Chief Secretary on May

New Delhi (24.07.2026): The Centre on July 23, 2026 approved a six-month extension for West Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Agarwal (IAS: 1990: WB) who was scheduled to retire on July 31, 2026.
The extension will take effect from August 1 and remain valid until January 31, 2027, following approval by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). The state government had requested the Centre on July 15 seeking an extension for Agarwal, who assumed charge as Chief Secretary on May 11 this year.
