Lucknow (15.07.2026): Amitabh Thakur (Retd IPS: 1992: UP), who was compulsorily retired by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs in 2021, has applied for the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The trust invited applications for the three-year tenure position following allegations of financial irregularities involving donation funds. Thakur, known for a controversial track record during which he locked horns with at least four former chief ministers, cited his 30 years of administrative experience, his devotion to Lord Ram, and his identity as a Sanatani as key qualifications in his application.
