The names of officials who may accompany the PM is not yet clear even as India and the United States have confirmed that Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump will meet on June 26  for the first time to give ''a new direction for deeper bilateral engagement'' and ''consolidation of multi-dimensional strategic partnership.'' Indianmandarins has learnt that the MEA is working with the PMO to enlist the names of officials who would be with the PM to assist him in Washington. Dates for the official visit, which has long been in the air, were formally announced on Monday along with a statement on the objective for the trip, which comes at the invitation of President Trump. Having long enjoyed continuity and bipartisan support across administrations in Washington and New Delhi, the statement clearly indicates both sides hope to extend that spirit of accommodation despite some early wrinkles in the Trump dispensation. Modi will arrive in Washington on June 25 but this time no Madison Square like event is planned for him. Even the NRIs for NaMo are keeping their fingers crossed this time as no one is able to understand or size up the unpredictable Trump.
