Thirty IPS officials - nine IGs and 21 DIGs - were on Sunday night transferred in Rajasthan. Inspector General (IG) of Police, Ajmer, Biju George Joseph was transferred to Jodhpur as commissioner, replacing Alok Kumar who was transferred from Jodhpur to Jaipur and was made IG security.

 

Joseph’s batchmate Dinesh MN has been shifted from IG intelligence to IG Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) where he had served for a little over one year from 2015 to 2016. He was instrumental in exposing major graft cases like a syndicated racket in mining and NRHM in which two IAS officers were also arrested. He has been shifted twice under the new regime.

 

IG, Udaipur, Vishal Bansal, was shifted to CID (CB) as its inspector general. Prafulla Kumar, who was DIG ATS, will replace him. Jodhpur range IG Sanjib Kumar will now be Ajmer IG, according to the order issued by the state department of personnel.

 

IG Jodhpur range, Sanjib Kumar Narzary will replace Joseph as new IG of Ajmer. IG ACB Sachin Mittal will replace Narzary. Praffula Kumar who is seen as tough taskmaster during his stint as additional commissioner of police (Jaipur) will replace Vishal Bansal as new Udaipur IG range. He is replaced by Santosh Kumar Tukaram who has been appointed as new DIG for ATS.  Several DIGs and SPs were also transferred.
