SHIMLA (01.06.2026): With no clarity on the appointment of the new Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh or extension to incumbent Sanjay Gupta (IAS: 1988: HP) who retired on May 31, 2026, uncertainty continues in the state. However, the Department of Personnel has forwarded a panel of the five IAS officers from the Himachal cadre, including officers serving in the state as well as those on central deputation. The names under consideration are K K Pant (IAS: 1993: HP); Anuradha Thakur (IAS: 1994: HP), Onkar Sharma (IAS: 1994: HP), Bharat Khera (IAS: 1995: HP) and R D Nazeem (IAS: 1995: HP).
