New Delhi (11.08.2023): Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has shortlisted three IPS officers for DGP post in Haryana. The panel consists of three names -- R C Mishra (IPS: 1989: HY), Muhammad Akil (IPS: 1989: HY) and Shatrujeet Kapur (IPS: 1990: HY) -- for the post of Haryana DGP as the incumbent police chief Prashant Kumar Agarwal (IPS:1988:HY) is retiring on August 15, 2023. Agarwal is already on extension.
Sources say that the senior most IPS officer and fa former DGP of the state Manoj Yadava (IPS: 1988: HY) had chosen to withdraw his name from the race whereas Haryana based news platforms constantly claim that the Haryana government refused to send the service record of Manoj Yadava to the UPSC citing his appointment as DG RPF.
Reportedly Shatrujeet Kapur is the favourite of CM M. L. Khattar.
