Chandigarh (28.07.2023): With the approaching date of completion of tenure as Haryana DGP speculations have gathered momentum as who will be the successor to Prashant Kumar Agarwal (IPS:1988:HY) who is all set to hang boots on August 15, 2023.
If some well-placed sources are to be believed RC Mishra (IPS: 1989: HY) has fair prospect of becoming the new DGP of Haryana though Muhammad Akil (IPS: 1989: HY) and Shatrujeet Kapur (IPS: 1990: HY) are also said to be close to clinch the offer.
Contrary, to Mishra’s prospects another section of insiders considers Shatrujeet Kapur is the foremost choice of the Khattar administration for the coveted post.
It may be underlined that on the basis of seniority, merit and experience UPSC may shortly send its panel to the Govt of Haryana. A section of insiders believe that Shatrujit Kapur is considered oe of the most competent officers in his Cadre but he is combative by nature whereas Mishra is accommodative and inclusive that makes him a perfect for a poll bound state.
Amid on-going speculations an interesting development is said to have captured the imagination of various sets of stake holders. Haryana government’s refusal to send the service record of Manoj Yadava (IPS: 1988: HY) to the UPSC citing Yadava’s unwillingness has made a talking point. It appears pragmatic as well, as Yadava recently moved from NHRC (DG, Investigation) to Railway Protection Force (RPF) as DG. In addition, after a reasonably sound term as DGP of the state Yadava himself had chosen to get back to IB as Special Director. On 13 January 2023 he was appointed as DG (Investigation) NHRC and appointed as DG, RPF last week.
Amid interesting scenario people in power corridors are keenly watching as who wins the race; RC Mishra or Shatrujeet Kapur?
