Chandigarh (11.07.2023): The Haryana government is expected to send a proposal today containing names of nine IPS officers to the UPSC to select the next DGP, but the government omitted the name of Manoj Yadava (IPS: 1988: HR), the senior most IPS officer in the state.
Yadava, a former DGP, is on central deputation as DG (investigation), NHRC, hence he is ruled out for the position. The incumbent DGP PK Agrawal is retiring on August 15, the Haryana government is likely to send the proposal containing the names of nine IPS officers to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to select the next DGP.
The nine IPS officers whose names are being sent to the UPSC included: Muhammad Akil (IPS: 1989: HR) and RC Mishra (IPS: 1989: HR); Shatrujeet Kapur (IPS: 1990: HR) and Desh Raj Singh (IPS: 1990: HR); Alok Kumar Roy (IPS: 1991: HR); OP Singh (IPS: 1992: HR) and Ajay Singhal (IPS: 1992: HR); and Alok Mittal (IPS: 1993: HR) and AS Chawla (IPS: 1993: HR). The name of SK Jain (IPS: 1991: HR) has been held back as he could not get an integrity certificate from the state government. It appears that Akil, Mishra or Shatrujeet Kapur will make the cut.
