TRIFED seems to be on an energy drive to translate its mandate into a reality. Having already started work on creating an Amul-like structure for marketing of several products from tribal areas, it's now planning to launch a 'Friends of Tribes' Program to seek partnerships with public and private enterprises for promotion of Tribal Retail Trade Value Chain and Development infrastructure & advocacy for MSP & Value Addition in 5,000 Haat Bazars of the country.
For this purpose, it plans to sign/ or already signed MOUs with AUROVILLE, Pondicherry; Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari; Kaling Institute, Bhubaneshwar; AJEEVIKA, M/o RD; NIFT, Delhi; DC Handlooms & Handicrafts; NCDC; M/o Forest & Environment and many State Govt Agencies.
It has also invited private marketing companies to join in its efforts.
