The Union home ministry on Monday sought a report from the Chandigarh administration in the case relating to the stalking of Varnika Kundu by Vikas Barala, the son of BJP's Haryana unit chief Subhash Barala. Indianmandarins has learnt that the said report may be submitted to the MHA on June 8 - that's today.
In view of the political fallout of the incident and the damage it has already caused to the Hindutva philosophy, Union home minister Rajnath Singh directed home secretary Rajiv Mehrishi on Monday evening to call for a detailed report on the stalking of the daughter of an IAS officer against accused Vikas Barala as well as an update on the investigations so far.
