The mega merger between the three state-owned general insurance companies National Insurance, United India and Oriental Insurance has got stuck in its initial step.
Three months have passed since the merger of the three state-owned general insurance companies was announced in the Union Budget. The three companies have been unable to reach a consensus on the appointment of a consultant.
There have been differences on the way the companies will be valued and who will get a better deal in the merger. The consultant will be accountable for the pricing and the valuation of the merger.
