New Delhi (18.05.2023): The Delhi government has sought the Centre's approval to appoint Praveen Kumar Gupta (IAS: 1989: AGMUT) as the new chief secretary of Delhi. The proposal was sent by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to Lieutenant-Governor VK Saxena, requesting his approval for the appointment.
The Chief Secretary of Delhi, Naresh Kumar (IAS: 1987: AGMUT), is due to retire by the end of this year. Gupta is currently serving as the additional chief secretary at the General Administration Department (GAD) of the Delhi government and broadly his retirement (31.01.2024) time also coincides with the incumbent CS Naresh Kumar.
