As Indianmandarins had anticipated in its report dated January 06, 2016 the outgoing DIPP Secretary, Amitabh Kant (IAS:1980:KL) has been appointed as next CEO of Prime Minister Modi's pioneering institution NITI Aayog. This is another example of advance succession planning on part of top bosses in PMO.
Kant is known for powering NaMo's favourite 'Make in India' campaign. Before he is scheduled to retire on February 28, his department would hold a mega make in India week in Mumbai from February 13-18. To be inaugurated by the Prime Minister, the event is expected to be attended by more than 1,000 companies and participants from 60 countries. He will superannuate on february 28 and will take over the full charge of CEO on March 01, 2016; the first day of next FY 2016-2017.
Kant was given additional charge of CEO, NITI Aayog on Decber 31, 2015, the day Ms. Sindhushree Khullar (Rtd IAS:1975:UT) completed her tenure as CEO.
