Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed Rajya Sabha in a written reply that through its e-biz project, the government aimed at integrating 50 services rendered by central and state governments."The e-biz project has started with an objective of providing government services through a single-window portal. In the pilot phase, it is proposed to integrate 50 services comprising 26 central government and 24 state services."
She added that so far, 20 central government services have been integrated with the e-biz portal. Ten states, including Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Maharashtra and West Bengal, have been identified for rolling out 24 state government services in the pilot phase.
The move is aimed at improving ease of doing business in the country. India has been ranked 130th among the 189 countries in a World Bank report on ease of doing business.
