Arun Kumar Sharma (IPS:GJ:1987) and Amrit Mohan Prasad (IPS:OR:1989) have been appointed as Joint Director, Central Bureau of Investigation. A K Sharma is currently heading Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) in Ahmedabad as Special Commissioner; a post created which has been created for the first time. Amrit Mohan Prasad is currently posted as Chairman of Odisha Police State Council Board (PSCB).
Simultaneously, DoPT (the cadre controlling authority of CBI) has extended the tenure of six Joint Directors who were reaching to the completion of their tenure under central deputation. Tenure of S Arunachalam (IPS:TN:1993) and Rajeev Sharma (IPS:RJ1990) have been extended upto June 30, 2015. Three Jt Directors of CBI have been given extension upto January 2016 namely; Keshav Kumar (IPS:GJ:1986), Prabodh Kumar (IPS:PB:1987) and R P Agrawal (IPS:AM:1986). In addition Sunil Kumar Jha (IPS:BH:1993) has been given extension upto April 2016.
