With this, the number of IPS officers sacked by the NDA government may rise to nine.
The MHA has reportedly already compulsorily retired five serving officers by invoking a rule that allows the government to remove them from service in consultation with their respective state cadres for sub-optimal performance.
Earlier, four IPS probationers were sacked for failing to clear the mandatory physical fitness tests during their training, though two were reinstated later.
