New Delhi (30.12.2022): As Indianmandarins reported last night (CLICK TO READ) that “nothing stops the New Delhi establishment from extending the services of UP CS DS Mishra.........", the Centre extended the tenure of DS Mishra as Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary for a period of one year ending 31 December 2023. 

While taking the extraordinary decision the Centre has indicated well that it has a well-crafted scheme of things for the UP Government ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In the history of Indian Civil Services, this is a unique decision of its kind. BB Vyas' was the first-ever case when a Chief Secretary (J&K) got three successive extensions for a period of one and a half years, all put together. 

Having got a second successive extension in service, each for one year, Mishra is now firmly established as Centres envoy in the UP administration which would mark a new juncture in the UP Administration and the Government.
