But Mr Soni will move from BIS immediately to take charge as Special Secretary with Overseas Indian Affairs; a newly created post in the department. The deck is clear for a 1983 or 1984 batch IAS officer to be appointed DG, Bureau of Indian Standards vice Sunil Soni.
