Senkumar's (IPS:1983:KL) contempt plea against the State's Chief Secretary, Nalini Netto (IAS:1981:KL), for not issuing the official order for re-appointing him as the chief of the state police force. "This is in bad taste. This proves the allegations of malafide against you", the court observed while reacting to Kerala government's admission in the court that Senkumar was never State police chief. The Supreme Court had on April 24, 2017, directed the Kerala government to appoint Senkumar to the post, saying he was transferred by the ruling LDF government "unfairly" and "arbitrarily". Senkumar had on April 29 moved the apex court seeking contempt action against the state government and its chief secretary alleging "wilful, deliberate disobedience" of its order reinstating him. The apex court slapped Rs 25,000 costs on Pinarayi Vijayan govt for the frivolous plea that Senkumar was not State Police Chief but only 'Head of the Police Force'. Faced with the SC's wrath, the state has filed a separate review petition challenging the Supreme Court judgment
