Mumbai (01.01.2024): Nitin Kareer (IAS: 1988: MH) has been appointed as the next Chief Secretary of Maharashtra. Kareer is currently serving as the additional chief secretary (finance). Kareer has succeed Manoj Saunik (IAS: 1987: MH) and took charge of office on Sunday evening and will continue as CS till March 2024 as he is going to retire on March 31, 2024. However, outgoing CS Manoj Saunik’s wife Sujata Saunik was also in the race to succeed him who had superseded her. Sujata, the additional chief secretary (administrative reforms), is senior to him according to the list drafted by the general administration department. She will retire in June 2025Also Read
