New Delhi (01.01.2024): Senior IAS officer Sepuri Suresh Kumar (IAS: 1988: WB), an alumnus of IIT Madras, assumes charge as the new Chairman of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) today.
Prior to this he worked as Additional Chief Secretary (Power) in the Govt of West Bengal and later as Director General at Netaji Subhash Administrative Training Institute, Kolkata.
Previously, he had a long stint at Centre and held various key capacities including Director (Finance) of National Aids Control Organization (2006-08), OSD in the Election Commission of India (2009) and as the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (2008-2014).
The Chairman post in DVC fell vacant after Ram Naresh Singh superannuated on 31.08.202 following which M Raghu Ram (Member, Technical) held the additional charge of Chairman since 01.09.2023.
The Search-cum-Selection-Committee, constituted in June 2023, selected and recommended S Suresh Kumar’s name for the coveted position. As DVC Chairman he will have a fairly long tenure till his superannuation on 31 May 2026.
