position at Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has
reportedly declined the offer. Among the three potential candidates, a seasoned
bureaucrat who has held significant portfolios as a Union Secretary had
initially expressed interest. However, citing reluctance to relocate from his current
base to Hyderabad, where IRDAI is headquartered, the said contender refused to
accept the offer which has emerged as a potential obstacle in the appointment
process.
