Rajasthan Govt recommends halting pension of IAS officer in wheat scam case

139Jaipur (07.07.2025): The Rajasthan government has
recommended halting pension of retired IAS officer Nirmala Meena, who is
accused in an Rs 8 crore ration scam. This step has sparked concern among more
than a dozen retired officers currently under investigation for corruption. In 2017, the ACB named IAS officer Nirmala Meena in an Rs 8
crore wheat scam. Although a charge sheet was filed in 2018 and prosecution
approval was sought, no action was taken during the previous BJP and Congress
governments. The Bhajan Lal Sharma-led administration has now approved the
prosecution and written to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) to
stop Meena’s pension. The DoPT will consult the UPSC for final approval.

Jaipur (07.07.2025): The Rajasthan government has recommended halting pension of retired IAS officer Nirmala Meena, who is accused in an Rs 8 crore ration scam. This step has sparked concern among more than a dozen retired officers currently under investigation for corruption.
In 2017, the ACB named IAS officer Nirmala Meena in an Rs 8 crore wheat scam. Although a charge sheet was filed in 2018 and prosecution approval was sought, no action was taken during the previous BJP and Congress governments. The Bhajan Lal Sharma-led administration has now approved the prosecution and written to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) to stop Meena’s pension. The DoPT will consult the UPSC for final approval.
