Amid Vedic chanting, Governor Jharkhand, Draupadi Murmu in the presence of Chief Minister Raghubar Das and other dignitaries, laid the foundation stone of new Jharkhand Bhawan at Bangla Sahib Road. During the function, Governor emphasised that the New Bhawan should bear an ethnic look where a feeling of Jharkhand can be seen in the heart of capital. Chief Minister Raghubar Das expressed his commitment for the people of the state and claimed that the new building bring state more close to centre for better coordination. Chief Secretary Rajeev Gauba revealed that the design of the building would be made keeping in view Green Building parameters under the GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) rating. Construction on the site would start in the month of April involving cost of RS 18 crore for the land and between RS 60 to 70 crore for entire project, which would be get operational in two years time frame. Dignitaries made various suggestions regarding the construction of new Jharkhand Bhawan. Giving vote of thanks, K K Soan, Secretary Building Construction Department assured that their suggestions would be taken into consideration during the construction.
