Weeks after suspected Pakistan-based hackers attacked the website of the National Security Guard, The Union home ministry's website was SIMILARLY hacked on Sunday, prompting authorities to temporarily block it. Officials said the National Informatics Centre was looking into the attack, while the Intelligence Bureau, the NIA as well as Delhi Police were trying to ascertain information about the hacker(s). Over 700 websites of various central and state government departments have been hacked in the last four years, according to official data. Yet Indians being Indians and absolutely sloppy, the government has been found sleeping over the matter instead of focusing on creating a full-proof cyber security firewall.
