CBI files a case against TN company for cheating Andhra Bank

cbi-files-a-case-against-tn-company-for-cheating-andhra-bankThe CBI has registered a case against a Chennai-based electrical equipment manufacturer, Best and Crompton Engineering Projects Limited, for allegedly cheating Andhra Bank of Rs 71 crore by availing of working capital, bank guarantee and other facilities from the bank. Five directors of the company, including managing director Kakulamarri Srinivas Kalyan Rao, have been booked for alleged criminal conspiracy, cheating and forgery, among other charges. The FIR was filed on the complaint of Andhra Bank, which alleged that it had extended working capital, bank guarantee and letters of credit worth Rs 60 crore to the firm. A consortium of three banks, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank and Andhra Bank, funding the firm found out that the company indulged in fictitious sales, and indulged in diversion of funds.
