KOLKATA (11.05.2026): The West Bengal Government appointed Manoj Kumar Agrawal (IAS: 1990: WB) as Chief Secretary following a major political and administrative shift in the state. He succeeds Dushyant Nariala (IAS: 1994) who is now expected to be named as Resident Commissioner in New Delhi. He served as the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) and oversaw the 2026 Assembly elections. His appointment comes as the new administration under Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari begins restructuring the state's top-tier bureaucracy in consultation with the Central Government.
