Both companies are subsidiaries of Coal India Limited (CIL), under the Ministry of Coal. Das will assume the additional responsibility with effect from July 1. He will hold the additional charge of the post for a period of six months, or until the appointment of a regular Director (Human Resource) at MCL, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Das has been serving as Director (Human Resource) at SECL since March 20, 2024. He has nearly three decades of experience in human resource management, industrial relations and employee welfare.
