J&K LG Manoj Sinha Likely To Find A Place In Union Cabinet

New Delhi (01.07.2026): Cabinet restructuring is on cards and may happen at any moment but certain highly probable names that are doing rounds also included Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha not only for his proximity with the top leadership but also to placate Bhumihar voters in Uttar Pradesh. Though he is on an important assignment but people in his home state i.e. Uttar Pradesh are considering it as banishment. With UP Assembly elections coming closer by the day, every section will be mollified before polls.

Sinha was not included in the cabinet after losing Lok Sabha elections but was sent to J&K. Now, there is nothing more to be done there for him, he may be brought to Delhi in the council of ministers as there is no doubt about his talent and capabilities. With Ajay Rai, now the Congress MLA, leaving the party for Lok Sabha ticket being denied to him from Banaras, another Bhumihar leader A K Sharma (Retd IAS: 1988: GJ) was brought to Lucknow with much fanfare but people of his community did not find him fit the way they imagined their leader.

Manoj Sinha was the tallest leader among them all but he was sent to Jammu and Kashmir. Considering all these factors, Sinha may be entrusted with some important assignment in the Union cabinet.
