Patna (17.03.2025): The Bihar government-led by Nitish Kumar has promoted Amit Lodha (IPS: 1998: BH), Inspector General of Police (IG), State Crime Records Bureau, to the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADG).  
Lodha whose book ‘the Bihar Diaries’ Netflix avatar 'Khakee: The Bihar Chapter,' gave him instant fame but an FIR was later lodged against him citing disproportionate assets and some financial trails holding Lodha responsible for unacceptable professional practices. 
Whatsoever could be the basis but a section of civil servants says that Lodha’s larger than life image on the silver screen would have been unacceptable to the political masters of the state which proved to be wrong. 
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) too registered cases against Lodha and wife Komudi Lodha which is probing charges against them against cases of relating to DA and others. The state vigilance department had also registered the DA case against him in December 2022 when he was DIG of Magadh range in Bihar. ED's complaint against Lodha is based on this very case.
