Thiruvananthapuram (17.03.2025):The Kerala government has set in motion the process of appointing new DGP to replace incumbent state police chief Shaik Darvesh Saheb (IPS: 1990: KL), who is set to retire on June 30, 2025. The government has sent a communique to six IPS officers, who have completed 30 years of service, seeking their willingness and resume to be considered for inclusion in the list of probable that will be forwarded to the UPSC.
The officers who have been approached are DGPs Nitin Agrawal (IPS: 1990: KL), Ravada A Chandrasekhar (IPS: 1991: KL), and Yogesh Gupta (IPS: 1993: KL), and ADGPs Manoj Abraham (IPS: 1994: KL), S Suresh (IPS: 1995: KL), and M R Ajith Kumar (IPS: 1995: KL). The state government will forward the list of probables to the UPSC by April.
