They are twin brothers. Although they have traveled their official journey separately, they were given an identical extension of one year on the day they were scheduled to retire.

Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Muneer Khan and his twin brother Kashmir Divisional Commissioner Baseer Ahmad Khan will continue to serve J&K for a year more from Sunday.

While giving Muneer an extension, the state government set aside an earlier order issued over three months back. That order had appointed Muneer the state information commissioner in the State Information Commission. The new order issued by Union Home Ministry Under-Secretary Mukesh Sawhney announced that Muneer will continue on extension for one year as ADG.

In a separate order issued by Under-Secretary in the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Sandeep Kumar Sinha, Baseer will continue as the divisional commissioner Kashmir on extension for a year
