New Delhi (26.06.2025): This is likely to be the first such instance where an Executive Director-level officer of Public Sector Bank has been demoted to GM position. The officer has been removed and sent back to his previous position. The officer was appointed as the ED at the state-owned lender in March, 2024 for a three-year tenure. The Centre cancelled his appointment this week. The appointment was challenged before the Delhi High Court as a public interest litigation by a woman accusing him of sexual harassment. The allegation was levelled against him in 2018 in which he was also accused of corruption.
