New Delhi (04.12.2024): The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of Justice Manmohan, Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, as a judge of the Supreme Court. Union Minister of Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal announced the appointment in a post on 'X' : "In exercise of the powers conferred by the Constitution of India, the President, after consultation with Chief Justice of India, is pleased to appoint Justice Manmohan, Chief Justice, High Court of Delhi as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India."It was on November 23 that the Supreme Court Collegium recommended the elevation of Justice Manmohan to the Supreme Court. With his appointment, the Supreme Court will have 33 judges against a sanctioned strength of 34 judges.
