some well-placed sources are to be believed Prashanth Nair (IAS:2007:KL),
former Private Secretary to the Union MoS (I/C) for Tourism K J Alphons and
currently Deputy Secretary in MNRE, appeared to have lost the appetite for
Centre and may repatriate to the cadre state of Kerala soon. Prashanth
was in November 2017 appointed as PS to Alphons but having spent a short stint
as PS, he was, on 13 July 2018, moved as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of
New & Renewable Energy (MNRE). Nair
reported to the ministry and left for Kerala (on leave) amid massive flood
scenario across the state. Those in the know of the affairs say that he was
expected to join his duties after 19 September but reportedly he did not do so. It may
be mentioned that Nair earned public acclaim when he kickstarted a slew of
popular initiatives during his stint as the collector of Kozhikode and
commanded a massive social media following. in the
past few months, the number of cases have increased where the PS to Union
Ministers chose to repatriate or quit the service.
