Indian
Forest Service (IFS) officers from different cadres and states like Arunachal
Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Haryana,
Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra
and Uttarakhand are attending at Katra in Jammu a five-day training program on
‘Disaster management and risk reduction initiatives through forestry and
others.’ The
training programme is eighth in a series organized by the School of Business,
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU). Funded
by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Government of
India, the program is exclusively targeted at IFS officers.
