New Delhi (30.09.2021): Not content with orchestrating the removal of Capt. Amarinder Singh from the CM's office, Sidhu wanted the newly-appointed CM Charanjit Singh Channi to eat from his hand and appoint as ministers only those who he saw as assets to him. When that desire was not fulfilled and Channi appointed some of his bete noire in the Cabinet as well as in the top ranks of civil administration at the behest of Congress High Command, he threw fits and resigned from the post of state President.
With the Punjab elections around the corner, these developments have led Congress astray. No one in the party seems to have a clue as to the solution the party high command may arrive at to keep the party united in the given situation.
