New Delhi (06.07.2021): Amid speculations on the leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary being replaced, former Congress Lok Sabha member and son of former President of India, Abhijit Mukherjee joined Trinamool Congress. But this is not the end of the woos of the Congress as infighting in the party is plaguing its future electoral prospects.

Punjab chief minister Capt Amrinder Singh is meeting Sonia Gandhi today to put curtains down on his differences with Navjot Singh Sidhu. Some formula is expected to reach upon to accommodate Sidhu after his meeting with the Congress working president. Punjab Congress infighting has reached Haryana with Bhupendra Singh Hooda reaching Delhi with 21 MLAs to remove Km Sailja from the post of state party president. These MLAs met party general secretary K C Venugopal to express their view.

Show of strength is continuing in Rajasthan with former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot and his supporters demanding that they should be given proper representation in the government. Both the group don’t miss any chance to embarrass each other even in public. The Congress has some respectable strength in Karnataka where elections are just two years away but tug of war between D K Shivakumar and Sidaramaiya is a matter of concern for the party. Both the leaders expressed their opinion in open on taking back 14 MLAs who switched sides. If Shivkumar wants them back to the party fold then Sidharamiya does not want them back at any cost.

Gujarat Congress is facing a power tussle over the appointment of the state party president for long where elections are due by the end of 2022. Bharat Solanki has very strongly claimed to be the strongest contender for the post of state party president once again while Shaktisinh Gohil, Arjun Modvadia and Sidharth Patel are other claimants for the post. But apathy of the top party leadership is making things miserable this is what party leaders feel.
