Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that the incumbent Assam Chief Secretary Vinod Kumar Pipersenia (IAS:1980:AM) has been given a three-month extension. He was scheduled to retire on 31st August 2017.
The Assam Govt had sent the proposal to Centre seeking its concurrence on Pipersenia's extension in the last week of July. The PMO reportedly cleared this proposal on Monday evening.
Having got the extension, Pipersenia may continue as Chief Secretary till 30 November 2017.
