• New Delhi (02.10.2022): In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Centre on Sunday cleared the appointment of Joint Secretary or Joint Secretary equivalent officers in various ministries and departments. The list of officers appointed goes as follows:
    • Ms Mugdha Sinha (IAS:1999:RJ) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture for a tenure of five years.
    • Ajay Bhadoo (IAS:1999:GJ) was appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India for an overall tenure of five years ending 24.07.2024. He replaces Chandra Bhushan Kumar (IAS:1995:UT).
    • Akash Tripathi (IAS:1998:MP) was appointed as CEO, MyGov, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology for a tenure of five years vice  Abhishek Singh (IAS:1995:NL).
    • Rahul Sharma (IAS:1998:JH) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH for a tenure of five years. He replaces D Senthil Pandiyan (IAS:2002:UD).
    • Deepak Agarwal (IAS:2000:UP) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for a tenure of five years. Presently he is working in Cadre as Divisional Commissioner, Varanasi.
    • Ajay Yadav (IAS:2005:BH) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy for an overall tenure of five years ending 11.12.2022. His tenure may be extended for two years on the availability of Cadre Clearance. Presently, he is PS to Jyotiraditya Scindhia in the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
    • Pankaj Yadav (IAS:2001:HY) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for a tenure of five years. . He replaces Ms Shomita Biswas (IFS:1988:MH).
    • Rajat Kumar (IAS:2005:CG) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training for a combined tenure of five years ending 21.08.2024.
    • Ms Priyanka Basu Ingty (IAS:2004:HP) was appointed (in-situ elevation) as Regional Director (JS level), SSC, Kolkata under DOPT for an overall tenure of seven years upto 03.04.2023. 
    • Deepak Mishra (IFS:1996:KL) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals for a tenure of five years.
    • Ms. Indu C Nair (IRAS:2001) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce for an overall tenure of seven years up to 11.04.2024.
    • Gurmeet Singh Chawla (IRAS:1998) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture for a tenure of five years.
    • Ajay Kumar (IAS:2006:GJ) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Defence for an overall tenure of five years ending 14.07.2024. 
    • Manoj Kumar Sahoo (IAS:2006:UT) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation for an overall tenure of seven years upto 16.12.2023.
    • Ajay Yadav (IAS:2006:TN) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat for an overall tenure of seven years upto 10.11.2023. 
    • D Senthil Pandiyan (IAS:2002:UD) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences for an overall tenure of five years ending 23.05.2026.
    • Hanish Chhabra (IAS:2006:TN) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs for an overall tenure of seven years ending 14.12.2022. 
    • Satyajit Mishra (CSS) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change for a tenure up to his superannuation on 31.05.2027. He replaces Jigmet Takpa (IFS:1990:JK) who recently repatriated as the first Principal Chief Conservator of the Forest of Ladakh.
    • Mukesh Kumar Bansal (lAS:2005:CG) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Financial Services for an overall tenure of five years ending 10.03.2025.
    • Ms T J Kavitha (IFS:2000:RJ) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution for a tenure of five years or vice Ms Mukta Shekhar (IRAS:1994).
    • Sachin Mittal (IPoS:2000) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare for an overall tenure of seven years ending 21.06.2023 Vice Vikas Sheel (lAS:1994:CG).
    • Manashvi Kumar (IAS:2004:PB) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare for an overall tenure of five years ending 14.03.2026 vice Ms Padmaja Singh (CSS).
    • Basant Garg (IAS:2005:PB) was appointed as Additional CEO, National Health Authority under the Department of Health & Family Welfare for an overall tenure of five years ending 10.09.2024.
    • Hanif Qureshi (IPS:1996:HY) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries for a tenure of five years vice Ms. Nidhi Chhibber (lAS:1994:CG).
    • Ms Surbhi Jain (IES:2001) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs for an overall tenure of five years ending 09.08.2026. She replaces vice Anand Mohan Bajaj (IA&AS:1990).
    • Ravi Kumar Arora (IAS:2006:GJ) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for an overall tenure of five years ending 04.08.2024.
    • Rahul Jain (IAS:2005:MP) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Investment & Public Asset Management (DIPAM) for an overall tenure of five years ending 03.11.2024.
    • Rupesh Kumar Thakur (IAS:2006:UT) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment for an overall tenure of five years ending 11.03.2026.
    • Ms. Nandita Gupta (IAS:2001:HP) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment for an overall tenure of five years ending 14.12.2022. 
    • Ms Farida Mahmood Naik (CSS) was appointed (in-situ elevation) as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines for a tenure of five years. She replaces Satendra Singh (IAS:1995:JH).
    • Franklin L Khobung (IFS:1998:GJ) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for a tenure of five years. He replaces Ms Namita J Priyadarshee (IFS:1989:GJ).
    • Mohammad Afzal (CPES:1995) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power for a tenure of five years.
    • Amit Shukla (IFS:1999:TR) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Rural Development for an overall tenure of five years ending 01.06.2026 
    • Ms Indira Murthy (CSS) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment for a tenure upto her superannuation on 30.04.2023.
    • Lochan Sehra (IAS:2002:GJ) was appointed as Joint Secretary, IN-SPACe (Ahmedabad) for a tenure of five years. 

  • New Delhi (01.10.2022): Notifications of appointments and recommendations issued on Saturday are as follows: 
    • Anish Dayal Singh (IPS:1989:MT) was appointed as DG, ITBP till superannuation i.e. 31.12.2024. He is Special Director, IB. 
    • SL Thaosen (IPS:1988:MP) was appointed as DG of CRPF till his retirement i.e. 30.11.2023.

  • New Delhi (30.09.2022): Notifications of appointments and recommendations issued on Friday are as follows:
    • The additional charge of the post of Secretary, Legislative Department was assigned to Niten Chandra (IAS:1990:OR), Secretary, Department of Legal Affairs, for a period ending 07.10.2022 i.e. during the period of absence on leave of Dr. Reeta Vasishta.

  • New Delhi (29.09.2022): Notifications of appointments and recommendations issued on Thursday are as follows:
    • Jitender Yadav (IAS:2010:AGMUT) was appointed as Private Secretary to the Minister for Information and Broadcasting & Youth Affairs and Sports (Anurag Singh Thakur) in the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports on co-terminus basis with the Minister.
    • The tenure of M. K. S. Sundaram (IAS:1997:UP), presently Development Commissioner, Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ), Special Economic Zone, Chennai, was extended for a period of six months beyond 19.07 2022.

  • New Delhi (29.09.2022): Senior Supreme Court advocate R Venkataramani has been appointed as the new Attorney General for three years. Venkataramani will replace K K Venugopal whose term ends on September 30, 2022. 
    Earlier, senior lawyer Mukul Rohatgi had declined the Centre's offer to return as the Attorney General who had stepped down in June 2017.
    Born in Pondicherry on April 13, 1950, Venkataramani was registered as a lawyer with the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu in 1977. In 1979, he moved to the Supreme Court. In 1997, the Supreme Court designated him as Senior Advocate.
    He had represented the Central government, several state governments, universities and public sector entities in various courts. The Supreme Court appointed him Court Receiver as measures for execution and completion of pending projects of Amrapali to assist home buyers. Venkataramani had also served as a member of the Law Commission in 2010 and 2013.

  • New Delhi (27.09.2022): Notifications of appointments and recommendations issued on Tuesday are as follows:
    • PESB selected Rajiv Kumar (GM, BSNL) for the post of Director(Finance), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
    • Katuri Sudarshan Raju was selected for the post of Director (Projects), Engineering Projects (India) Ltd. Presently, he is Executive Director, EPIL.
    • The tenure of Hemant Kumar Sharma (IPS:2006:RJ) was appointed as Police Planning Officer (P-4 Level), Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions, Department of Peace Operations, United Nations, New York for a further period of one year beyond 28.11.2022. (I.e. upto 28.11.2023.
    • The central deputation tenure of Ms. Mudita Mishra (IOFS:2001), Additional Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, was extended for a period of one year beyond 16.09.2022 and upto 16.09.2023. She counts her central deputation tenure under the Central Staffing Scheme w.e.f 17.09.2015.
    • Jag Mohan (IPS:1995:BH) was appointed as Minister (Personnel & Community Affairs) (JS level) in the Embassy of India, Washington DC under the Ministry of External Affairs for a tenure of three years. He replaces Anurag Kumar (IPS:1994:AGMUT).
    • The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by Prime Minister cleared the approved the appointment of Dr D K Sunil (Chief Designer, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), as Director (Engineering and R & D) in HAL for a period ending 30.04.2026 i.e. the date of his superannuation.

  • New Delhi (26.09.2022): Notifications of appointments and recommendations issued on Monday are as follows:
    • The tenure of Rakesh Aggarwal (IPS:1994:HP), Joint Director, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), was extended for a period of six months beyond 02.09.2022 in relaxation of IPS Tenure Policy. 
    • The tenure of Ms. Sampat Meena (IPS:1994:JH), Joint Director, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was extended for a combined period of 07 years upto 21.09.2024.
    • The deputation tenure of N C Saravanan (IFoS:2002:AGMUT) and Smt Arti Chaudhary (IFoS:2002:AGMUT), presently working as Additional Professor in Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA, Dehradun) was extended for a period up to 31.03.2023 beyond their respective approved tenures ending 31.10.2022 and 14.11.2022, respectively (i.e., approximately 5 years and 5 months outside the cadre at a stretch).
    • Ms. Sanjeet Kaur (IPS:2007:NL) was appointed as Deputy Inspector General of Police in National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) on deputation basis for a period of five years.

  • New Delhi (25.09.2022): The Centre on Sunday affected a minor reshuffle at the level of Additional Secretary level posts. Officers reshuffle are;
    • L Satya Srinivas (IRS C&IT:1991) was appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce. Currently, Additional Secretary, NATGRID, Ministry of Home Affairs. 
    • Rajendra Kumar (IAS:1992:TN) was appointed as Director General, Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Ministry of Labour & Employment in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. Currently, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.
    • Ashish Srivastava (IAS:1992:MP) was appointed as Adviser (AS level), Inter-State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs. Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, MHA.
    • Jaideep Kumar Mishra (ICAS:1993) was appointed as AS&FA, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. He replaces, Ashish Srivastava. Currently, he is Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology. 
    • Ms V Radha (IAS:1994:MH) was appointed as Additional Secretary, NITI Aayog. Currently, she is Additional Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. 
    • Ms Ranjana Chopra (IAS:1994:OR) as Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Culture. Currently, she is in Cadre. 
    • Nitishwar Kumar (IAS:1996:UP), presently on Inter Cadre deputation, was appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Women and Child Development.
    • T Natarajan (IAS:1996:GJ), awaiting posting, as Additional Secretary Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance.
