• New Delhi (25.06.2026): Mahesh Dixit (IPS: 1993: AP) has been appointed as the new Director, Intelligence Bureau. The Andhra Pradesh Cadre officer spent crucial years serving as the chief of the IB's Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau (SIB) in Srinagar, overseeing Jammu and Kashmir and Leh. He played a pivotal role in maintaining internal stability and tracking regional security challenges post the abrogation of Article 370.
    Indianmandarins wrote about Mahesh Dixit getting the coveted job if the Centre doesn’t consider third term for the incumbent Tapan Kumar Deka (IPS: 1988: HP).

  • New Delhi (24.06.2026): Gurkaran Singh Bains (IRS-C&IT: 2006) has been appointed to a long-term foreign assignment as Director of Customs within the Customs Department of the Mauritius Revenue Authority in Port Louis, Mauritius. The contract-based appointment is slated for a tenure of three years.

  • New Delhi (23.06.2026): Notifications of appointments and recommendations issued on Tuesday are as follows:-
    1. Sanjay Jaju (IAS: 1992: TG), Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre.
    2. Tenure of Shyam Jagannathan (IAS: 1997: AM), Director General (Shipping), Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India, has been extended for a period of two years beyond 01.06.2026 i.e. up to 01.06.2028.
    3. Prem Chand (YOA: 2011), presently posted in the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Cabo Verde.

  • New Delhi (22.06.2026): In a minor reshuffle, three AGMUT cadre IPS officers have been entrusted with new assignments which included appointment of a new DGP of Ladakh. The names and new postings of these officers are as follows:

    1. Anand Jain (IPS: 1999: AGMUT) has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of the Union Territory of Ladakh by transferring him from Jammu and Kashmir.
    2. Mandeep Singh Randhawa (IPS: 2006: AGMUT) has been posted to Mizoram after being repatriated to the cadre.
    3. Aslam Khan (IPS: 2007: AGMUT) has been transferred from Delhi to Arunachal Pradesh.

  • New Delhi (22.06.2026): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has re-appointed senior Supreme Court advocate Tushar Mehta as the Solicitor General (SG) of India for a further term of three years from July 1, 2026.
    Mehta will continue as the Union Government's second-highest law officer and is expected to complete eleven years as SG by the end of this extended tenure. Mehta assumed the SG office in 2018 and has already completed eight years in the role, making him one of the longest-serving SG in India's judicial history.
    The ACC also re-appointed three Additional Solicitor Generals (ASGs)  --  Suryaprakash V Raju, N Venkataraman, Aishwarya Bhati, for a further term of three years with effect from June 30, 2026 while two ASGs -- Vikramji Banerjee and K M Nataraj --  for a further term of three years with effect from July 01, 2026.

    Chetan Sharma has been re-appointed as ASG for High Court of Delhi for a further term of six months with effect from July 01, 2026.
