- New Delhi (06.07.2027): In a major reshuffle of Director General rank officers, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Monday cleared the appointments of new Directors General (DGs) of BPR&D and Directors of NCRB and SVPNPA. The appointment of Director, NCRB was made by upgrading the post. The names of these officers are as follows:
- Alok Kumar Mittal (IPS: 1993: HY) has been appointed as Director General, BPR&D for a period up to 30.06.2029 i.e. date of his superannuation.
- Amit Garg (IPS: 1993: AP), Director, SVPNPA, has been appointed as Director, National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) by temporary upgradation of the post of Director, NCRB to that of DG level till date of his superannuation i.e. 31.10.2027 vice Alok Ranjan (IFS: 1991: MP).
- Sujeet Pandey (IPS: 1994: UP) has been appointed as Director, SVPNPA for a period up to 31.07.2028 i.e. date of his superannuation vice Amit Garg (IPS:1993: AP).

Lokhande Prashant Sitaram (IAS: 2001: AGMUT), Chairperson, Central Board of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Home, Ministry of Home Affairs with the additional charge of the post of Chairperson, Central Board of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education.
Purnendu Kishore Banerjee (ISS: 1993), Joint Secretary, Department of Higher Education, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre.
- New Delhi (02.07.2026): Prof Umesh V Waghmare, President & Professor, Theoretical Sciences Unit, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bengaluru, has been appointed to the post of Secretary, Department of Science & Technology. Prof Waghmare will remain in the office till he attains the age of 60 years.
- New Delhi (02.07.2026): The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Ravi Shankar as the new Executive Director with effect from July 1, 2026. Ravi Shankar will look after the Department of Statistics and Information Management. Prior to his promotion as Executive Director, he was serving as Advisor-in-charge in the same department.

- Prof Umesh V Waghmare, President & Professor, Theoretical Sciences Unit, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bengaluru, has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Science & Technology up to date of attaining the age of 60 years.
- Tenure of Vikram Misri (IFS: 1989), Foreign Secretary, has been extended for a period of one year beyond 14.07.2026 i.e. up to 14.07.2027.
- Tenure of Amit Shukla (IFoS: 1999: TR), Joint Secretary, Department of Rural Development, has been extended for a period of one year beyond 01.06.2026.
- Sachin Mittal (IPoS: 2000) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Lokpal under the Department of Personnel & Training for a tenure of five years.
- Tenure of Dr N Kalaiselvi as Director General, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research-cum-Secretary, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research has been for a further period beyond 07.08.2026 till the date of her superannuation i.e. 28.02.2027.
Pramod Kumar Choudhary (IRSS: 1998), CVO. Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd (TCIL), Delhi, has been entrusted with additional charge of the post of CVO Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL), Delhi for a period of six months from the date of assumption of charge of the post or till the appointment of a regular CVO in BSNL.
Somnath Ghosh (IFS: 1997), presently Consul General, Consulate General of India, Chicago, has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to Malaysia.
Manoj Tiwari (IPS: 2003: SK), presently working as Director, Dr Ambedkar Foundation under Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, has been appointed as Inspector General in Border Security Force from the date of assumption of charge of the post and up to 24.08.2030. He counts his central deputation tenure w.e.f. 25.08.2025.
Mamta Rahul (IPS: 2007: RJ), DIG, CISF, has been appointed as Inspector General in Central Industrial Security Force from the date of assumption of charge of the post and up to her remaining deputation tenure i.e. 26.01.2Q28.
- New Delhi (01.07.2026): The Central Government has constituted National Road Safety Board (NRSB) with Dr Nitin R Gokarn (Retd IAS: 1990: UP), Former Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh, as its Chairman along with over a dozen members. The board has been constituted using sub-section (1) of section 215B of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988).The Board has Transport Commissioners of Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Delhi as Members; Additional Director General of Police of Maharashtra, Odisha, and Tripura as Members; Additional Director General (East) and Additional Director General (North /Quality Control) of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways as Ex-Officio Member; Member (Admin.) and Member (Road Safety) of National Highways Authority of India as Ex– Officio Member; Director (Technical – I) of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited as Ex-Officio Member.There are eight other members that are as follows:
