Power corridors are abuzz that P V Krishna Reddy (IPS:1982:TR) is tipped for the post of Director General, National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), a post which fell vacant last week with the appointment of A Radha Krishna Kini (IPS:1981:BH) as Secretary (Security) Cabinet Secretariat.
Reddy (Special DG, CRPF) is the only IPS officer from 1982 batch (with DG empanelment) who is posted in Govt of India and yet waiting for his turn for a DG post.
Though the NCRB chief is an ADG rank post, it is. when required, temporarily upgraded to DG rank. This is what happened while posting R R Verma (Retd IPS:1979:BH) and A R K Kini as DG NCRB.
